Helen Welter

Helen Maxine Welter, 95 of Kelso, Missouri died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.  She was born September 14, 1923 in Lambertville, Missouri to Herbert L. and Clara E. Morrow Karraker, Sr.  She married Leon Nickolas Welter on August 7, 1948.  He preceded her in death on January 17, 2011.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Ladies Sodality, V.F.W. and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.  Helen cooked for many weddings and loved to play cards and Bingo.

She is survived by her son, Freddie Welter of Kelso; a grandson, Andrew Welter of Scott City; two sisters-in-laws, Zeta Welter and Revella Schlosser of Kelso, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Welter; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 pm followed by K.C prayers.

Funeral mass will be at 9:00 am on Saturday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
