Myron Bond Carter, Jr. 61 of Scott City died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at his home. He was born October 29, 1955 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Myron Bond and Edna Warner Carter. He married Lynda Marie Lynn on December 1, 1973.
Myron worked as a route salesman for over 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Scott City. His passion has always been for the youth, he was involved in both Drug awareness and Scholarships through the Elks. He was a Cub Scout Den leader as well as Boy Scout Scoutmaster and also worked with a Venture Crew as Leader/Mentor. Hunter safety was important to him also and he was an instructor for local classes.
He is gone from our sight but is home with our Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda; his mother, Edna; a son, Myron “Trey” Carter of Scott City; a daughter, Ruth Carter of Scott City; two brothers, Mike (Brenda) Carter of Cape Girardeau and David (Cheryl) Carter of Scott City; two sisters, Debbie Mosley and Anita (Steve) Montgomery both of Chaffee and three grandchildren, Micha, Dade and Bryce.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday at the Amick-Burnett chapel in Scott City and from 10:00 am until time of service on Tuesday at the chapel.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at the chapel with Rev. Jeremy Sells officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Southeast Cancer Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
