He was born on November 17, 1939 in Bertrand, MO to the late James Herschel and Mary Ellen Connelley Dollins.
Virgil was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked on an assembly line for Carter Carburetor in St. Louis, MO and for Rowe Furniture in Morehouse, MO. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Rebecca Sloan of Sikeston, Martha Crotts of Morley, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Arline Allard and two nephews.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, January 4, 2015 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, MO.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., at the chapel with Rev. Rick McNeeley officiating.
Burial will follow at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, MO.
