Maudie Louise Schmitt

Maudie Louise Schmitt, age 92, of Chaffee, MO passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri. She was born in Parma, Missouri on September 14, 1923 to the late Robert and Blanche Knupp Biby. She married Linus Schmitt on October 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1976. Maudie was a retired sewing machine operator for Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee, MO. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and the Daughters of St. Ambrose. Survivors include her two sons, Cletus and Donald Leo Schmitt both of Chaffee, Missouri; one sister, Myrtle Slack of Chaffee, Missouri and three grandchildren, Stephanie Palmer, Candy Cannon and Michael Schmitt. She was also preceded in death by one son, one sister and one brother. Friends may call after 4 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. Parish Prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Cemetery in Chaffee, Missouri.
