Joy Griswell

Joy Griswell, age 73, of Dyersburg, TN formerly of Cape Girardeau, MO passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Reelfoot Manor Nursing and Rehab in Tiptonville, TN. She was born in McNairy, TN on February 3, 1942 to the late Alvin and Ocie Loraine Smith Griswell. Joy was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Elaine (Brian Munsterman) Griswell of Zion, IL, Lisa Carol Parr of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Jerry Griswell of Salem, MO, Lonnie Griswell of Missouri City, TX; two sisters, Nancy Reynolds and Sylvia Hager both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a special friend, Dave Greer of Zion, IL; two grandchildren, Letecia Marie McCreight, Shaunda Elaine Strayhorn and seven great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Edwin Fernandez; three sisters; one brother; a soulmate, James R. Henson and one brother in law, Joe Hager Sr. Friends may call from noon until 2p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at 3p.m., Thursday, at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Missouri with Rev. Robert Hendrix Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 602 Vine St. Advance, MO 63730 to go toward the headstone.
