Hayes Winford Laster

Hayes Winford Laster, 88 of Commerce, MO died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born August 7, 1926 in Harmony, AR to Earl Monroe and Etta Elma Hartlein Laster. He married Alta Marie Fears on November 12, 1949. Hayes was a farmer and a member of Community of Christ Church in Sikeston, MO. He is survived by his wife, Alta Laster of Commerce; a son, Conley (Dee) Laster of Commerce; a daughter, Tia (Robert Wardron) Clifton of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Stuart Matthews, Beth (Branden) McCullough, Stephanie Matthews, Amber (Robert) Gill and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday, February 26, at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Memorial service will be on Thursday at 7:00 PM at the chapel with Greg Darling officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, February 27, at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
