Carlos W. Chitty

Carlos Ward Chitty, age 101, of Scott City, MO passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on February 27, 1913 in Fornfelt, MO to the late Walter and Emma Foster Chitty. He married Ruby Imogene Lynn in Dexter, MO on April 4, 1936 and she preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2006. Carlos was owner and operator of Carlos' Grocery Store in Scott City, MO. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Scott City. Survivors include a sister in law, Elsie Caldwell of Cape Girardeau, MO. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. Friends may call from 1p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be held at 2p.m. at the chapel with Jason Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
