Ronnie H. Kern

Ronald H. "Ronnie" Kern,73 of Scott City passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2014 surrounded by the people he loved. He was born at home in Ancell, MO on December 20, 1940 to Harold & Viola Arnold Kern. He married Rosemary Uhrhan on August 4, 1962 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, MO. They enjoyed 51 ½ years together with their two children and four grandchildren. Ronnie worked at the Scott City Post Office for 33 years, retiring in 1998. He was active in Knights of Columbus, Meals on Wheels and Scott City Restitution Board and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. He is survived by his wife Rosemary, their two children, Sherry (Donnie) Thomas and Gary (Courtney) Kern; four grandchildren, Zane & Victor Thomas and Gracie & Lillie Kern. He is also survived by some tremendous friends whose friendship he cherished. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 PM followed by Knights of Columbus service. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the church with Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
