Dorothy Gibbar

Dorothy Marie Gibbar, 86 went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 19, 2014 with her daughter by her side. Dorothy was born on February 1, 1927 in Eldorado, Illinois. She was the daughter of Arthur Thomas Nichols and Mary M. Nichols. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt and friend to many. Dorothy married the love of her life Elvis J. Gibbar and was married 56 years prior to his death in 2001. Loving survivors include one daughter Valerie Hilligas (Wesley); three grand daughters Bethany Parker (Aaron), Melissa Mott (Joseph), Meagan Hasty (Eddie); one great-grandson Evan Wesley Hasty; sisters Lois Gilewski, Wanda Ablett (Al), Shirley Casteel (Norman), Viola Nichols and one brother Thomas Nichols. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Fay Steward and Sheila Nichols. Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 9-11a.m. and the celebration of her life service will start at 11a.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.
