Paul D. Spane, 72, passed away Sunday Jan. 19, 2014, at Chaffee Nursing Center. He was born on May 1, 1941, at Bell City to the late Eugene and Lelia Pauline Neezle Spane. Paul was a military policeman in the U.S. Army. He married Joyce Tankersley on Oct. 16, 1964, and she survives of the home. Paul was a member of the Perkins Baptist Church. Paul worked for Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau until it was shut down. Joyce and Paul then cleaned offices in the Cape Girardeau area the next 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one son, Travis (Robin) Spane of Oran, Mo.; four daughters, Tammy (Dennis) Brock of Cape Girardeau, Tracy (Tim) Limmer of Rolla, Mo., Debbie (Mark) Schmidt of Cape Girardeau and Latasha (Brian) Mashek of Scott City; nine grandchildren, Megan Brock, Brent James, Zachary Brock, Bailey James, Alyssa Spane, Nicholas Schmidt, Jakob Limmer, Brayden Mashek and Molly Spane. Two brothers preceded him in death. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2104 at the chapel in with the Rev. Danny Tankersley officiating. Burial will be at Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Mo.
