Henry Jacob Majka

Henry Jacob Majka, age 88, of Delta, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born on July 27, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late Jacob and Mary Smolak Majka. He married Ruth Evelyn Hefner on Jan. 23, 1954 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 2009. He retired as an auto body worker for IAM Union 701 in Chicago, IL. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, MO and SEMO Deaf Club. Survivors include two sons, Ivan (Donna) Majka of Jackson, MO, Audie Majka of Delta, MO; three grandchildren, Branson (Angela) Majka of Scott City, MO, Brandi (Shawn) Morris of Perryville, MO, Breanna Majka of Jackson, MO; one great grandson, Dustin Majka of Benton, MO; one brother Chester Majka of Chicago, IL, and one sister, Carol Hanacek of Bartlett, IL. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Friends may call after 4pm on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. Funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday, December 20, 2013 at the chapel with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, MO.
