Donald R. Slinkard

Donald R. Slinkard, age 73, of Whitewater, MO passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born in Jackson, MO on July 14, 1940 to the late Boyd Loren "Dick" and Hattie Fern Allen Slinkard. Donald married Carol Marie Picou on Nov. 12, 1966 in St. Marys, MO and she survives. He was a member of the United States Army and worked at Whitewater CO-OP. He was an avid bowler, fisherman and hunter. He loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Carol Slinkard, of 47years; three sons, Jeff Slinkard of Whitewater, MO, Mark (Julie) Slinkard of White water, MO, Chris (Amy) Slinkard of Cape Girardeau, MO; one brother, Richard Slinkard of Whitewater, MO; five grandchildren, Amanda, Ashleigh, Andrea, Ryan and Makenzie Slinkard; as well as many friends especially his bowling buddies. Friends may call from 4-8pm, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, MO. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 1pm at the chapel with Rev. Don Kuehle officiating. Burial will follow at Whitewater Methodist Cemetery in Whitewater, MO with full military honors presented by the Missouri Honor Guard.
