Larry V. Phillips, 65, of Oran died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at his home. He was born March 24, 1948, in St. Louis, to Sherman Vick and Nadine Bacchus Phillips. He and Linda Kay Hampton were married Sept. 24, 1966. Phillips retired in 2005 as a maintenance tech from P&G in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Oran Baptist Church, and Eagles Aerie 3775 where he served as a patriot guard in Cape Girardeau and Chaffee Warchild. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Oran; his mother, Nadine Phillips of Oran; a son, Todd (Debra) Phillips of Oran; a daughter, Carol (Darren) Glastetter of Oran; two brothers, Rick (Tammy) Phillips of Sikeston, Mo., Rodney (Maggie) Phillips of Oran; a sister, Melissa (Melvin) Pobst of Oran; six grandchildren, Dillon and Laci Glastetter, and Allison, Emily, Gage and Kara Phillips, all of Oran. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. An Eagles service will be held at 7:30. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the chapel, with Randy Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
