Joe Charles Hager, age 76, of Cape Girardeau, MO passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at the family home in Cape Girardeau. He was born in Painton, MO on January 19, 1937 to the late Charles Henry "Fudge" and Grace B. Jewel Widner Hager. Joe married Sylvia Griswell on August 7, 1965 and she survives. He was a jet mechanic in the United States Air Force for nine years. He retired from the Cottonbelt Railroad in Scott City where he worked on the Bridge Gang. He was also a member of the First Church of God in Cape Girardeau, MO, and former masonic mason. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of the home; two sons, Joe Toliver (Wendy) Hager of Yucca Valley, CA, Joe Charles (Fiance' Shanna Robert) Hager of Scott City, MO; three daughters, Carolyn (Gary) Brinkman and Janet Lee Lolmaugh (Fiance' Billy Cross) both of Springtown, TX, Janet Fay (Tim) Junker of Friedheim, MO; one sister, Linda Kay (Bill) Hess of Jackson, MO; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister and a grandchild. Friends may call from 10am until time of service on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral service will be held at 1pm at the chapel with Revs. Mark Ramsey and Roger Christensen officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors presented by the Missouri Honor Guard.
