Stella Essner

Stella Virginia Essner, 83 of Kelso died January 25, 2013 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born July 3, 1929 in Kelso, MO daughter of Clarence and Lorena Ida Ellinger Stone. She married Cletus Essner on January 29, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fornfelt, MO. She was employed by Ely & Walker Factory, Lowenbaum Dress Factory, Ralph Edwards Coat Factory, Superior Electric and retired from the Lutheran Home in 1993. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church at Kelso, MO, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary 6420 in Scott City, Life member of VFW post 6407 Ladies Auxiliary in Scott City, Life member Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 16. She is survived by her husband; a son, Robert "Bob" (Linda) Essner of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Dorothy Marie (Melvin) DeBrock of Kelso; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a fifth great grandchild expected in February. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott city. Parish Prayers at 6:00 PM with K of C service following. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, MO with Rev. Oliver Clavin at Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be sent to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
