Benny J. Evans

Benny J. Evans, 71, of Oran, MO passed away Tuesday, Sept 25,2012 at the family home in Oran, MO. He was born May 2, 1941, in Morley, MO to the late Ralph Samuel and Geraldine Fowler Evans. He married Diane Hanna on August 17, 1959 and she survives. Benny was a retired self-employed truck driver and owner of a furniture store in Oran, MO. He was a member of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston, MO and was mayor of the City of Oran from 1976-1978. Survivors include his wife, Diane Evans of the home; two sons, Tracy (Cindy) Evans of Oran, MO, Ethan (Beth) Evans of Jackson, MO; one daughter, Lori (Keith) Chapman of Oran, MO; two brothers, Don (Irene) Evans and Ed Evans both of Oran, MO; one sister, Linda (Spencer) Taylor of Benton, MO; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Friends may call after 4PM, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, MO. Funeral service will be held at 10AM, Friday, September 28, 2012 at the chapel with Rev. Len Myers officiating. Burial will follow at New Morley Cemetery in Morley, MO.
