Carolyn Rose Cambron-Clayton of Scott City, Missouri completed her earthly journey passing in her sleep Thursday May 15 while surrounded by her caring family.
Carolyn is survived by the love of her life, James E. Clayton, whom she married on March 2, 1957. Being a mother was her passion as she and her husband have three children, Linda (husband Gary Springs), Mark (wife Jane Bolen), and Jim. She dearly cherished her grandchildren Blake, McKenzie, and Duncan.
Carolyn was born to RW “Bud” and Irene Cambron on September 26, 1936. She was blessed to have three sisters, Florence “Pat” Beebe, Mary Louise Cambron, and Mary Martinez.
Love of Christ was forever the center of her life. As a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (Scott City), she was tirelessly devoted to the Parish and its works including singing in the choir, serving as a lector, teaching Sunday school, and an active role in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Her most radiant joy was achieved when helping to guide others in coming home to the Catholic Church.
Her life was filled with numerous activities including line dancing and dinner with friends. Dedication to the community led to joining the Scott City School Board. Prior to retirement she was an Office Manager for Chap Arnold Insurance and enjoyed a long tenure with the Scott City School District as an administrative assistant.
Visitation will be Monday May 19 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday May 20 at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Scott City.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
