Christopher "Chris" D. Whitaker

Chris Whitaker son of Marilyn Lawson Lindy of Chaffee and the late DeVere Whitaker was born on January 2, 1964 in Torrance, California. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 55 years.

Chris was a former supervisor for Carr Textile in Sikeston, Missouri, was of the First Christian Church faith in Chaffee, member of the Elks Lodge #1810, and a resident in Chaffee.

On June 21, 1991 he was united in marriage to Tracy Kinder. Mrs. Whitaker survives of the home in Chaffee.

Besides his wife and mother, survivors include one son, Christopher Whitaker II of Chaffee, three brothers, Tony Whitaker of Chaffee, Kirk Whitaker of St. Louis, Missouri, and Dale Granda of Dittmer, Missouri; by three sisters, Shelia Ottman of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Sharron Winslow of Veneta, Oregon, and Jesse Whitaker of St. Clair, Missouri.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee. Chaffee Elks Lodge #1810 service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Steve Shepard
officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
