Clarence “Slim” Curtis, son of the late Leo Wylie Curtis and Newell Mary Michelson Curtis was born on January 13, 1935 in Hagarville, Arkansas and departed his life on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 91 years.
He retired from RB Potashnick and a member of the Oran Baptist Church. Mr. Curtis was a resident of Oran and enjoyed playing the banjo and working outside in his garden.
On May 16, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Margrabe in Oran, Missouri. Mrs. Curtis preceded him in death on January 1, 2009.
Survivors include two sons, David Curtis of Sikeston and James Curtis of Oran; two daughters, Benita Lewis of Cape Girardeau and Brenda Curtis of Scott City; four grandchildren, Stacey Hicks, Joshua Curtis, Michael Cathey, and Elizabeth Cathey; two sisters, Cleda Curtis of Oran and Freda DeWalsche of Port Byron, Illinois; also, by many great-grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded by, one son, Ronald Wylie Curtis; one daughter, Darlene Cathey, one brother, Boyd Ray Curtis; one sister, Juanita Smith; two grandchildren, Samuel Cathey and Dustin Curtis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 11:00 until 1:00 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 PM with Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the New Morley City Cemetery.
