Clifford Joseph Metz

Clifford Joseph Metz, 93, of Oran, Mo, passed away April 3, 2020 at the Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mr. Metz was born August 9, 1926, in Oran, Mo to the late Frank Metz and Stella Vogelbacher.

He was a native of Oran and a graduate of the Oran School District. After graduating from Oran High School in 1944, he enlisted in the Army, where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in December of 1946. On November 20, 1965, Clifford married the love of his life, Betty Lou Heisserer, she preceded him in death on February 19, 2018.

Clifford owned and operated Metz Cleaners from 1950-1980. He then worked for Patrick Cleaners in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Clifford was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Missouri. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Morley, Missouri where he worked the weekly Bingo for years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Heisserer, his parents, and one sister: Elvira Metz.

There will be a private family service on Saturday, with a Memorial Mass at a later date. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran, Missouri.
