Deborah “Debbie” Hottel, age 63, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on December 30, 1961, in Pocatello, Idaho, Debbie built a life defined by hard work, devotion, and an unwavering love for her family. She dedicated 23 years of service to Albertsons before continuing her career at Missouri Delta Medical Center, where she worked for more than 20 years. Her commitment, kindness, and reliability touched countless coworkers, patients, and friends throughout the years.
Debbie married the love of her life, Larry “Tyke” Hottel, and together they shared a beautiful blended family. She is survived by her children: Bobby Reynolds, Tiffany (Will) Keiser, Dugger Hormann, and significant others Brittany and Sierra, Clinton (Yareli) Reynolds, Hope Hottel, Holly Hormann, and significant other Joaquin and Heather Hottel and significant other Dan
She was a proud and loving grandmother to: Alex Reynolds, Alex Slaton, Julia Hottel, Addisyn Haven, Shane Deffendall, Taige Reynolds-Ryan, Piper Amelunke, Tucker Reynolds-Ryan, Sylas Deffendall, Benjamin Lewis, Destiny Keiser, Ryleigh Hormann, Kayla Deffendall, Charlie Garcia, and Colton Reynolds—each of whom brought tremendous joy to her life.
Debbie is also survived by her mother, Jeri Mowers; her brother, Mike Mowers; her sister, Lori Bird; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Orville Mowers; her grandchildren Emily Reynolds and Leland Amelunke.
Debbie had a deep appreciation for the simple treasures of life. She loved spending time outdoors, working on puzzles, and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren—her greatest pride and joy. Her laughter, strength, and gentle presence will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
