Dewey Chester Hagar, 93 of Greenwood, Mississippi formerly of Morley, Missouri died Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Riverview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in
Greenwood, Mississippi. He was born to Thomas Newton Hagar and Lydia Davidson Hagar on December 9, 1926. He married Sadie Goff in May 1950.

Dewey was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Dewey was ordained as a Deacon in the Baptist Faith in Benton then later served as a Deacon at Edwards Baptist Church in Mississippi. He grew up near Doniphan, Missouri and moved to Morley, Missouri in 1944. He and Sadie had two sons, Richard Dewey (Mona) Hagar of Hollandale, Mississippi and Randall Thomas (Vicky) Hagar of Wake Village, Texas; three grandchildren, Josh, Matthew and Rachel Hagar and a host of family and friends. Dewey was very proud of his sons and daughters-in-law and prized his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ethel Dalton, Annabel Hagar, Lola Mae Holland and Gene Holland and three brothers, Raymond, Roy and Kenneth Hagar.

Private services were held at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, Missouri with full military honors.
