Donald Baker, son of the late Edward Baker and Sarah (Lee) Baker was born on February 16, 1956 in Artesia, California and departed his life on Monday, May 26, 2025 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 69 years.
As a retired truck driver, Donald loved sharing stories of the road and the American landscape. He was a member of the local #618 Teamsters, and a resident of Scott City. Donald was also a member of the Discover Life Church in Cape Girardeau.
On September 5, 1981 he was united in marriage to Mary Helen Glastetter in Kelso, Missouri at St. Augustine Church. Mrs. Baker survives of the home in Scott City. Along with his wife, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Lindsey Josepayt of Maple Shade, New Jersey.
He was the proud uncle of, Dana, Susan, Zach, Dawn, Matt, Brandon, Elizabeth, Sammie, and Jamie. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a dedicated uncle to several great-nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death his twin brother, Ronald Baker; sister, Sherry Braden and son-in-law, Keith Josepayt.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10:00 until 1:00 PM at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 PM with Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.
In lieu of flowers, the Baker family requests all donation be made to Restore the Wonder Kids Camp Program, P.O. Box 1501, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 63701.
