Doris Joy Hanselman, daughter of the late Boyd Cook and Beulah (Cowell) Cook was born on July 5, 1932 in Lamar, Arkansas and departed her life on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Chaffee nursing Center Rehabilitation at the age of 93 years.
She was a former employee of Bob’s Food Liner in Scott City and prior to this, owned her own grocery stores in Morley and Bell City, Missouri. Doris enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, jigsaw puzzles, but most importantly spending time with her family.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet (Jim) Edmondson of Oran, six grandchildren, Leatha (Jimmy) Bartels, Miranda (Jeremy) Corzine, Becca (Brian) Parker, Eric (Ginger) Hanselman, Wendy Hanselman, and Brandi Hanselman; nine great-grandchildren, Luke (Alicia) Wilhite, Lauren Wilhite, Britne Parker, Leland Parker, Anna Hanselman, Georgia Hanselman, Macanda Pequeno, Jackson Pequeno, Jace Pequeno; one great-great-grandchild, Aubrey Wilhite.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Veron Joseph Hanselman, Sr.; one son, Vernon Joseph Hanselman, Jr.; three brothers, Garland Boyd, Cleve and Lee Cook; a great-grandson, Dylan Sparks and a great-great-granddaughter, Eden Sparks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 until 12:00 noon at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran. Funeral the New Morley Cemetery, Morley, MO.
