Effie W. Dodd

Effie Dodd, daughter of the late John Thomas Daniels and Birtha Miller Daniels was born on March 25, 1949 in Bell City, Missouri and departed this life on November 6, 2019 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 70 years.

Mrs. Dodd was a former employee of Venture Products in Oran, Missouri for many years. She was also a former employee at Wal-Mart, member of the Morley Baptist Church, and a resident of Aquila.

On February 28, 1970 she was united in marriage to James Eugene Dodd in Pop City, Missouri. Mr. Dodd preceded her in death on April 28, 2017.

Survivors include one son, James Dodd (Julie) of Bloomfield, Missouri; two daughters, Kim Lafferty (Kip) of Aquila, Missouri and Christy Dowdy (William) of Bloomfield, Missouri; three brothers, Wesley Daniels of Oran, Terry Daniels of Cape Girardeau and Robert Daniels of Jackson; three sisters, Catherine Daniels of Oran, Shirley Pirtle of Randles, Missouri and Birtha Griswell of Oran. She also by eight grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Luther, J.R., Wilburn, John Thomas and Sherman Daniels; and two sisters, Helen Cato and Alice Sauceda and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday with Rev. Brian Gill Officiating.
