Fred Henry Gramm Sr., age 84, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at his home in Benton, MO.
On June 28, 1941, in Springfield, MO he was born to the late John and Thelma Moore Gramm.
He married the love of his life, for the last sixty-three years, Cora Franklin on July 28, 1962, in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Fred had been a truck driver for the Proctor & Gamble Company until his retirement. After retiring from over the road, Fred had been a bus driver for the Scott City Schools for eight years.
When he retired for good, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to tinker with different projects, do yard work, hunt with his sons, and spend time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Cora, he is survived by three sons: Fred Gramm Jr., John & Melissa Gramm, and Raymond & Michelle Gramm all of Benton, MO; two daughters: Tammy Jo Pruitt of Dexter, MO and Twila Messemer of Cape Girardeau, MO; two brothers: Melvin Gramm of California, and Ezera & Delores Gramm of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Earl, Jerry, Clifford, and Donald; four sisters: Carrie, Marie, Ursula, and Dorris.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, MO from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Dennis Lowe of Unity Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, IL.
