Gary Alan Wright

Alan Wright, son of the late Gary Jerriet Wright and Caroline Jean (Young) Wright was born on September 29, 1956 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed his life on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at his residence in Commerce, Missouri at the age of 69 years.

Mr. Wright graduated from Kelly High School in 1975 and was of the Baptist Faith. Alan was the owner and operator of Wright Auto Repair in Commerce over 40 years.

On September 27, 1982 he was united in marriage to LeAnna Marie Howell. Mrs. Wright preceded him in death on August 18, 2013. Later in life he was united in marriage on February 20, 2021 to Vicki O'Neal. She survives of the home in Commerce.

Along with his wife, survivors include four daughters, Christina (Brian) James of Morley, Missouri, Alisha (Tyler) Pierce of Scott City, Stephanie (Gene) Fought of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Lindsay Maupin of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, Jonah James, Noah James, Jacob James, Lauren Johnson, Destani Brown, Trae Hennecke, Jayden Pierce, Jaclyn Daniels, and Maddox Maupin; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Cleo Wright of Commerce; one sister, Vicki (Rod) Carroll of Commerce; also, by a host of family and friends.

Along with his previous wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Wright and by one sister, Saundra Wright.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral services will then be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Missouri.
