Hazel Rhymer, daughter of the late William Lawson and Goldie Evelyn Wilson-Lawson was born on May 27, 1939 in Cadet, Missouri and departed her life on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 86 years.
She was a homemaker and member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. Hazel enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.
On May 31, 1960, she was united in marriage to Luther Earl Rhymer. Mr. Rhymer preceded her in death on April 15, 1997.
Survivors include one son, Wayne (Vicki) Rhymer of Scott City; three daughters, Diane Rose of Advance, Donna (Larry) Nesbit of Scott City, and Evelyn (Keith) Mosley of Chaffee; two brothers, Glen Lawson and Bobby Lawson; four sisters, Della Soles, Dorothy Barker, Linda Bone, and Patricia Lawson; ten grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; also, by a host of family and friends.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Valerie Cattorn; one grandson, Trey Hopper; two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lawson; and by one sister, Berneice Koehler.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 30, 2026 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be held on Friday May 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM in Eisleben Luthern Church at Scott City with Rev. Doug Briete officiating. Interment will follow in the Eisleben Luthern Cemetery.
