Ivy Nell Hudson, our beloved mother, went to her heavenly home to be with her savior, Jesus Christ on April 28, 2026 at the age of 80 years. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. After a long illness, she has laid down her earthly burdens to walk with the angels and sit at the feet of God. She is now experiencing the joy of a perfect heavenly home with our dad, parents, and Jesus.
She retired from Columbia Sportswear in Chaffee as an Inspector and later in her career worked at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
On June 30, 1963 she married the love of her life Jimmy Hudson in Dogwood, Missouri. Mr. Hudson preceded her in death on December 11, 2020.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Sue (Kenny) Hudson-James of Advance; one son, Jimmy (Natacha) Hudson Jr. of Advance; two sisters, Sue (Ted) Davis of Sikeston and Judy Hill of Bernie; eight grandchildren, Brittney (Jason) Hammondtree, Jordan Smith, Mitchell (Melissa) Hudson, Coty Hudson, Jacob (McKenzie) Smith, Lana (Shane) Hughes, Holly (Brody) Ditto, and Dustin (Katie) James; nineteen great-grandchildren, Ayden, Rylan, Brantley, Adalyn, Bryce, Trevor, Brandon, Joseph, Jimmy, Damon, Eralynn, Alivia, Raelyn, Laekyn, Bentley, Cameron, Ryder, Laynie, and Oaklynn; also, by a host of family and friends.
Along with her parents, Henry Hill and Annie (Rhyne) Hill, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jimmy Hudson Sr.; one daughter, Valerie Cattorn; two brothers, Alfred Hill and J.B. Hill; two sisters, Betty Pepper and Ocell Hamilton; two grandchildren, Justin Smith and Joey Lawson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 1:30 until 2:30 PM at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be held at 2:30 PM with Brother Don and Sister Kathy Leggitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
The Hudson family is very thankful for the care our mother received from Providence Hospice nurses.
