James Willard Whorton

James “JW” Whorton, 65, of Minor passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Feb. 17, 1953 in Sikeston to the late James T. and Merlene Wyatt Whorton.

James was of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Air Force. He loved to fish, hunt and play guitar with family and friends.

He is survived by, a stepson, John Hanners of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Roger Whorton of Benton; Mardi Whorton of Morley; six sister, Sue Glenn of Morehouse; Peggy Taylor and Marvalene Taylor both of Morley; Margaret Yarbrough of Hartman, Arkansas; Treasie Whorton of Mason City, Iowa; Loretta Gadberry of Sikeston; he is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by, a step daughter, Michelle Emerson and two brothers, Melvin and Loyd Whorton.

Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Entombment at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery
