Jo Ann Irwin-Street, born September 10, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Louis Wable and Jessie Lorene (Reese) Wable. Jo Ann dedicated her professional life to serving others, most recently as an employee of Community Counseling Center before becoming disabled.
Jo Ann’s life was defined by both her passion for music and her devotion to her faith. Early in her life, she began a career in music, playing violin for the Jackson Orchestra, Paducah Symphony Orchestra, and SIU Edwardsville Symphony Orchestra. Her love for music brought beauty and inspiration to many.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Jo Ann was an active member of her church and found deep fulfillment in honoring God and spreading His message to those around her.
In 2008, Jo Ann married the love of her life, Robert Street, at First Baptist Church in Advance, Missouri. She was a devoted wife until Robert’s passing.
Jo Ann’s greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her daughters, Heather (Nathen) Shirrell and Lindsay (Stephen) Irwin, both of Advance; grandchildren Eliza (Hunter) Rogers, Ella Shirrell, Jack (Addie) Shirrell, all of Advance, and Cooper Adams of Cape Girardeau; and great-grandchildren Malcolm, Theo, and Dean. She is also survived by her siblings, Steve (Pam) Wable of Lee Summit, Jeanne Payne of St. Peters, and Cindy (Kurt) Reeg of St. Louis.
Jo Ann considered her greatest accomplishment to be her two wonderful, special girls, Heather and Lindsay. She often said, “What love I feel for you both and your families.”
Jo Ann’s legacy is one of love, faith, music, and deep devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
