Joanne Richards

Joanne Richards, daughter to the late Ruby Bailey was born on April 30, 1934 in Roach, Missouri and departed this life on November 1, 2020 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 86 years after a long battle of respiratory distress.

She has always been a hard worker from the time she was a teenager. Joanne has done everything form waitressing to assembly line work to working in the educational system. She received her GED at the age of 60 and worked for the Chaffee Nutrition Center while battling COPD until her retirement. She has been a member of the Chaffee community for over 25 years. Joanne enjoyed bowling, cross bow hunting, reading, photography and crossword puzzles. She was always there for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren while growing up. She will be remembered as a very loving, caring and selfless women.

She is survived by her five children, Lana (Joe) Ezell of Metropolis, Illinois; Janine (Doug) Shipman of Dexter, Missouri; Scott (Brandie) Dicks, Colleen (Craig) Ramsey and Sheila Hadley all of Chaffee; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri with Rev. Clyde Quick officiating.
