Joseph Raymond Klueppel

Joseph Klueppel, son of the late Frank Klueppel and Dorothy (Scherer) Klueppel was born on September 20, 1934 in Benton, Missouri and departed his life on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 91 years.

He was a lifelong resident of Benton, Missouri where he farmed and a lifetime member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton. Mr. Klueppel was a member of St. Denis Men’s Sodality and a Veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Alaska.

Joe loved his outdoor life with farming, was an amazing gardener that he shared produce with many, and greatly enjoyed fishing. He grew up playing Euchre and loved to play cards with friends and family. His Grandkids brought him great joy.

On August 18, 1962 he was united in marriage to Irene Jansen. Mrs. Klueppel preceded him in death on April 16, 2021.

Survivors include three sons, Rob Klueppel of Cadiz, Kentucky; John (Marilyn) Klueppel of Sikeston; and David Klueppel of Oran; three daughters, Janet (John) Dean of Hannibal, Missouri; Yolanda (Farzad) Mohebbi of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Patty (John) Follmer of St. Louis; eighteen grandchildren, Courtney, Rachael, Jake, and Sam Klueppel, Mary Liz (Alex Brown), Anna Kate, Jack, and Vincent Klueppel, Brody, Joe, and Beth Dean, Gaby (Colvis), John (Alex), Danny (Ray), Nick (Brittney), and Tony (Alyse) Follmer, Kiyan, and Maya Mohebbi; by seven great-grandchildren, Walter, Lily, James, Sofia, JB, Andie, and Rainer; sisters-in-law Angela Klueppel of Benton, Corena (LeRoy) Berkbigler of Jackson and  Louise Jansen of Chaffee and by many other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Charles Klueppel.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at St. Denis Parrish Center in Benton. Eucharist service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the St. Denis Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Belkin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery.
