Kathleen (Kat) Schrum

Kat Schrum, daughter of the late Ray Hunter and Sylvia (Bostic) Hunter was born on September 15, 1944 in Illinois and departed her life on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at her home in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 81 years.

She was a former employee of Cottonwood Treatment Center serving as second supervisor in charge. Kat loved her time with her family and her time with her animals. She also enjoyed working in the yard and her flower planters. Kat was grateful that her daughter Nicole, along with a few of her grandchildren, Alleigh, Maddison, Mallory, Matthew, Will, and Nicholas were able to provide daily in home care with comfort, love, and laughter the last years of her life.

On January 4, 2007 she was united in marriage to Ronald Lee Schrum Sr. Mr. Schrum preceded her in death on April 5, 2007.

Survivors include her three children, Nicole Schrum, Hope Davis, and Randy Curneal; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Cathy Sieberg; also, by a host of family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Rick, Terry, Don, Carl, and Dennis Hunter; one sister, Donna Cox.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 11:30 until 1:00 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral service will then be conducted at 1:00 PM with Rev. Robin Reid officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee.
