Kenneth Edward Chapman

Kenneth “Kenny” Chapman, 74, of Advance passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1944 in Perkins, Missouri to the late Billy Sunday & Gladys LaRue Scism Chapman. He and Lois Menz were married on Sept. 6, 1962 and had two sons. He later married Alice Fay Thomure on Jan. 7, 2013 and she survives of the home.

Kenneth was a retired laborer for Cape Local #1104 in Cape Girardeau and he also worked for 30 years at Florsheim Shoe in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Sikeston. Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and grandkids at his property Triple K Ridge. He also loved to sing and won awards at the Kenny Rodgers Telethon and Senior Idol at Home Comers in Jackson and the SEMO District Fair.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Chapman of Advance; two sons, Kenny (Paula) Chapman of Cape Girardeau; Keith (Diane) Chapman of Chaffee; two brothers, Norman (Sharon) Chapman of Cape Girardeau; Larry (Shelly) Chapman of Hillsboro, Missouri; two sisters, Sharon Bowen of Ballwin, Missouri; Margaret Heuring of New Hamburg; five grandchildren, Korey (Katie), Kayla, Mackenzie, Madison and Chevy; a great-grandchild, Kaynen. He is also survived by Lois Menz of Jackson.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Dale Chapman and a sister, Mary Kinder.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Tuesday, at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at the Chapel with Rev. Bobby Mouser officiating. Burial will be at New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
