Larry J. Horrell
Larry Horrell, son of the late Chris Horrell and Bertha (Elfrink) Horrell was born on July 27, 1937 in Glennon, Missouri and departed his life on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 88 years.
He retired from Wetterau Foods in Scott City, Missouri and was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. Larry enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting with his boys and spending time at his cabin near Arab. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry was known for his storytelling and his listening to others. He took great pride in watching all three of his sons playing on state championship teams in 1977 and 1983 baseball and football. Larry loved watching his boys play sports and later being able to watch his grandkids and great-grandchildren play in multiply sporting events. Mr. Horrell will be truly missed by all that knew him.
On October 10, 1959 he was united in marriage to Mary Helen Ziegler and to this union three sons were born. Mrs. Horrell preceded him in death on January 31, 2011.
Survivors include three sons, Randy (Mona) Horrell, Allan (Micki) Horrell, and Brian Horrell all of Chaffee; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Chelsea) Horrell, Whitney (Brandon) Amick, Aaron (Stephanie) Horrell Olivia Horrell, Bryce Horrell, Kodi (Abby) Ballard, and Kaleb Ballard; eleven great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Sherrin Rains; one brother, Harley Horrell; one sister, Betty Debrock; also, by a host of relatives and friends.
Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Estel and Harold Horrell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM with Rosary Prayers at 4:00 PM in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
At the family request memorials can be made to St. Judes and St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
