Lavern Ballard

Lavern M. Ballard, daughter of the late Joseph Wiedefeld and Rosealee (Schetter) Wiedefeld was born on June 5, 1931 in New Hamburg, Missouri and departed her life on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at her residence in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 95 years.

She was united in marriage to Raymond L. Ballard in New Hamburg on February 3, 1950. Mr. Ballard preceded her in death on October 27, 2003.

Mrs. Ballard was a former employee as a Cook at Chaffee Grade School and a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include three sons, Danny Ray Ballard of Chaffee, Mike Ballard of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and James Ballard of St. Louis; one daughter, Darlene Marie Chesher of Chaffee; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; also, also by a host of family and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 1:00 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Funeral Mass will then be conducted at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
