Lena Upchurch

Lena Maria Crowden-Upchurch, age 58, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at her home in Benton, MO.  On September 28, 1967, in Harvey, IL she was born to the late Frank Crowden and Maria McKenzie- Crowden.  Lena married Richard Upchurch in Benton, MO on May 7, 2022.

She lived a life full of fun, family, and laughter. Lena loved to draw, go camping, fishing, and going to the casino.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Upchurch of the home in Benton, MO; her mother, Maria Mckinsie Crowden Menz of Scott City; four sons: Josh Locke and Jordy Fath of Scott City, MO, Landon and Nicole Hays of Cape Girardeau, MO, Ryan and Bri Upchurch of Jackson, MO; three daughters: Erika and Frank Perez of Houston, TX, Emily and Justin Greable of Gordonville, MO, Erin Upchurch of Chaffee, MO; two sisters: Cara Huckstep of Scott City, MO and Dody Menz who preceded her in death on March 15, 2025;  one aunt, Rachel Mckinsie of Chicago, Illinois and seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of Lena’s life will take place at a later date.
