Marilyn Yvonne Ritter

Marilyn Yvonne Ritter, daughter of the late Mary Evelyn Gossett and James Ellis reeves, was born on March 27, 1953 in Sikeston, Missouri and departed her life on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center at the age of 73 years.

She worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston, Missouri for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mother. Mrs. Ritter enjoyed making crafts, going to craft shows and hunting for treasures at yard sales. Later in her life she loved watching old television shows and spending time with her family.

On January 7, 1969, she was united in marriage to Billy Jim Ritter in Matthews, Missouri. Mr. Ritter preceded her in death on October 27, 2011.

Survivors include two daughters, DeAnn (Tim) Kirk  and Kelley Sue Ritter (Matt Besand) both of Chaffee, Missouri; five grandchildren, Ashley Ritter (Josh Job) of Scott City, Missouri,  Amber Kirk of Benton, Missouri, Kristin (Chris) Orrell of United Kingdon, Aaron Ritter of Des Moines, Iowa, Devon Haupt of Ames, Iowa; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Rylee, and Colton Job all of Scott City, Missouri, Atlas and Jasper Orrell of the United Kingdom; three sisters, LeAnn Knuckles (Mikey Price) of Chaffee, Robin (Russell) Walker of New Madrid, Missouri, Gina Brewer (Shane Goodman) of Sikeston, Missouri; one brother, Steve (Angie) Brewer of East Prairie, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Mike (Pam) Ritter of Sikeston, Missouri, step-mother, Geraldine Reeves of Matthews, Missouri; special nephew, Tyler (Amanda) Palmer of Chaffee and a special friend, Bobbi Ruff of Blodgett, Missouri; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Daniel Gossett, brother, Phillip Reeves, mother-in-law, Lucille Ritter, sister-in-law, Patsy Johnson, maternal grandparents, Jess and Lola Long, paternal grandparents, Thomas Wesley and Dorsie Reeves, and son-in-law, Dennis Haupt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10:30 until 12:00 noon at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chaple in Chaffee. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri.
