Michael Gean “Mike” Hatley
Mike Hatley, son of the late Claude Hatley and Ruth (Gean) Hatley was born on July 16, 1947 in Wardell, Missouri and departed his life on Friday, June 13, 2025 at his home in Oran, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1964-1968 and a former construction supervisor for Thompson Culverts, Penzel, and Potashnick general contacting.
On May 23, 1969 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Smith in Matthews, Missouri. Mrs. Hatley survives of the home in Oran.
Along with his wife, survivors include two daughters, Stacey (Ronnie) Brawner of Oran and Robin Chism of Sikeston; seven sisters, Claudette (Jim) Chailland and Marie (Dwain) Bryeans all of Oran, Linda Hatley, Marsha Amos, and Donna Seabaugh all of Vanduser, Darline Brown of Benton; and Ronna Ponder (Nathan May) of Sikeston; three granddaughters, Kristin Schuchart, Sherina Sharp, and Harley Hargrove; eight great-grandchildren, Madelyn Schuchart, Evan Schuchart, Olivia Schuchart, Landon Sharp, Emily Sharp, Gabby Hargrove, Evie Thomas, and Micah Gean Thomas; also, by several nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by three brother, Donald Ray Hatley, Ronald Dewayne Hatley, and Claudis Dean Hatley; one sister, Ruth Carol Hatley; one sister-in-law, Brenda Gail Hatley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral services will then be conducted at 6:00 PM. Private family entombment will take place in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date with full military honors.
