Myra June Asmus

Myra June Asmus, daughter of the late John Hall Darby and Emily Susan (Lindley) Darby was born on December 23, 1935 in Sereno, Missouri and departed her life on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri at the age of 90 years.

Mrs. Asmus retired as a seamstress from Thorngate LTD in Chaffee, Missouri and went on to proceed with a career at Heisserer Oil Company Self Service in Chaffee until her official retirement. She was affiliated with Calvery Baptist Church in Chaffee.

She was first united in marriage to Eugene Miskell in 1953. Mr. Miskell preceded her in death. Later in life she was united in marriage to August Joseph Asmus in 1977. He also preceded her in death.

Survivors include five daughters, Paula (Tom) Stidham and Emily (Mike) Eichhorn both of Chaffee, Kathy (Mitch) Schetter of Sikeston, Missouri, Tammy (Tommy) Erlbacher of Delta, Missouri, and Della (Ray) Eggimann of Florissant, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great, grandchildren; one sister, Jean Ann Goodman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; also, by a host of family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jack Darby; by one sister, Nova “Jane” Mowery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from noon until 3:00 PM at Calvery Baptist Church in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted at 3:00 PM with Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapels assisting with arrangements.
