Norval Ray Spears

Norval Ray Spears, son of the late Norval H. Spears and Dora Winemiller Spears was born on January 22, 1938 in Bell City, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 88 years.

He was a former manager for AT&T and a resident of Jackson, Missouri.

On November 24, 1995 he was united in marriage to Vicki Gateley. Mrs. Spears survives at the family home in Jackson.

Along with his wife, survivors include three sons, Brad (Rosi) Spears of Bell City, Missouri, Jason (Rachael) Hamm of Oran, Missouri, and Jerod (Lexi) Hamm of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Becky (Greg) Rick of West Frankfort, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Laura (Matt) Dejournett, Katie (Alex) Broch, Rachel (Troy Lymon) Spears, Brian (Mallory) Rick, Kevin Rick, Madeline (Michael) Hamm, Bella Ancell, and Julia Ancell; by ten great-grandchildren; also, by a host of family and friends.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jennifer Spears.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran. Private graveside services will immediately follow visitation.
