Paul Wilkerson

Paul Marcus Wilkerson, age 93 passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

On November 29, 1931 in Palestine, Texas he was born to the late William Bryan Wilkerson and Sadie Marie Hillis.

He married Delores Jean Day on February 8, 1969 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2009.

Paul was an engineer for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Illmo, the Secretary -Treasurer for the Scott City Historical Society and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and Board Member for First Financial Bank. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by three sons, Greg (Gina Marie) Wilkerson of St. Charles, Missouri, Doug (Pam) Wilkerson of Torrance, California, and Todd Wilkerson of Bloomington, Illinois; a daughter, Kim (Wolf) Butler of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Cooper Wilkerson, Thomas Wilkerson, Kaitlin Wilkerson and Kyle Wilkerson and a great grandchild Bronston Wilkerson.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 am on June 28, 2025 at the Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City.

Burial will be at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Scott City Historical Society or Broadway Methodist Church.
