Ramona Glastetter

Ramona Frances Glastetter age 91 of Kelso, MO passed away at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau, MO on April 5, 2020. She was born January 22, 1929 on the Blattel Homestead east of Kelso. Daughter of Herman and Blanche (Hamm) Blattel. Ramona attended St. Augustine Catholic grade school and graduated from Fornfelt High School in 1946.

On May 7, 1949 Ramona and Sylvester married in St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, MO. He was the love of her life. Sylvester preceded her in death on December 31, 2016. They were married for 67 years. Ramona and Sylvester moved to their home in Ancell, MO nine years before moving to their farm in 1957. Then in 1981 they moved to Kelso, MO. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Lady Society.

Ramona was a founding and lifetime member of the Scott County Historical and Genealogy Society which she did much research for. She found ancestral information for people here in the United States, Canada, Alaska and for friends in France and Germany. Ramona also donated several books to SEMO University. Her research and genealogy touched thousands. For over 30 years she did research about her own family history as well as many others.

Ramona loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening with Sylvester along with other hobbies like cooking, embroidery, crocheting and sewing.

Loving survivors include a son, David and (Denise) Glastetter of Cape Girardeau and three daughters, Sharen and (Ron) Parker also of Cape Girardeau. Karen and (Cary) Hou of Sacremento, CA, and Ramona Glastetter of Jackson, MO. Preceding her in death was a son, Cornelius Glastetter.

Also surviving are her six grandchildren: Kurt David and (Stephanie) Glastetter of St. Louis, MO, Dustin Paul and (Emily) Glastetter of Arnold, MO. Ramona Bess Bijoux of Jackson, MO. Louise Maria and (Zachary) Cuellar of Fountain, Colorado. Ellen Ramona and (Michael) Green of Davis, CA, and Maris Elizabeth Parker of St. Louis, MO. She also has six great-grandchildren.

Private family service will be held.
