REV. ALVIE LEE SURFACE

Rev. Alvie Surface, son of the late Homer Surface and Cora Bass Surface was born on September 2, 1933 in Delta, Missouri and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri surrounded by his family at the age of 86 years.

Rev. Surface worked as a Farmer and at Florsheim Shoe Company for many years but his most important work was his work for God. He was a Bishop in The Church of God and a member of the church in Jackson, Missouri where he pastored for 39 years. He dedicated his life to telling others about God and his love.

On October 30, 1955 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Joan Crader in Mississippi. Mrs. Surface survives of the home in Rockview.

Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Barbara Cook (Dennis) and Sarah Lee Abernathy both of Chaffee; by one sister, Betty Pearman of Chaffee; two granddaughters, Christina Cook of Chaffee and Rebecca Ramos (Jason) of Oran; also, by three great-granddaughters, Jordyn Cook, Willow Ramos and Autumn Ramos.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday November 4, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with Rev. Greg Pace officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
