Rev. Thomas J. Morris, son of Albert Morris and step-son on Evaline Morris and the late Juavata Jorone Eaker Morris was born on June 30, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on March 25, 2020 at the Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Alabama at the age of 70 years.

Mr. Morris was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army, former employee of Elfrink Truck lines for twenty-two years, and was a ordained minister serving The Church of God in Cape Girardeau and later on The Church of God in Chaffee where he retired in 2016. Tom was a great man of God who touched many lives, he made several mission trips to Haiti and will always be remembered by helping many people by offering his home for a place to stay or buying a meal for someone in need. Rev. Morris was residing for the past couple of years in Opp, Alabama but was formally of Chaffee.

On October 20, 1968 he was united in marriage to Esther Sullinger. Mrs. Morris preceded him in death on August 30, 2016. He was then united in marriage to Ronann Luttrell on September 30, 2016. Mrs. Morris survives of the home in Opp, Alabama.

Beside his wife, father, and step-mother, survivors include three sons, Tom Kilburn (Michelle) of Jackson, Shane Morris (Jill) and Shawn Morris (April) all of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Julie James (Mark) of Jackson; by two sisters, Juavata Jones and Vickie Day (Jim); eleven grandchildren, Natalie and Gracen James, Nora, Eva and Brock Kilburn, Madeline, Haley, Blake, Mason, Aidan Morris and Ethan Morris; one step-son: Robert Luttrell of Clarksville, Tenn; two step-daughters Angie Lutrell of Kelso,  and Megan Flores of Scott City; and twelve step- grandchildren; by several nieces and nephews, brother and sisters-in-law.

Besides his first wife Esther Morris of 48 years and mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Thresa Clark.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. for family only at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. A private burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
