Roy Hartle Sr., son of the late George Hartle and Irene Hahs Hartle was born on February 19, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 74. Mr. Hartle was a retired school teacher of Delta School District after 25 years and continued to teach at various schools in the Scott County, Cape County, and Mississippi County School Districts for another 5 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, was of the Baptist faith, and a resident of Scott City. Roy graduated in 1965 from Perryville, Missouri and was an All-State and All-District stand out playing Perryville Pirates Football. On June 21, 1968 he was united in marriage to Selena Faye Miller in Baumholder, Germy. Mrs. Hartle survives of the home in Scott City. Besides his wife other survivors include two sons, Roy (Joseph) Hartle Jr. of Scott City and Ralph Greg (Jessica) Hartle also of Scott City; by three brothers, John Hartle and Wade Hartle both of Missouri and Joe Hartle of Florida; two sisters, Barbara Abernathy and Joy Friedrich both of Jackson; also by four grandsons, Carter, Cooper Noah, and Eli. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one niece Susan Abernathy, and by one nephew John David Hartle; also by one brother-in-law, Willie Abernathy. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
