Sandra Whitmore, daughter of the late Curtis Rose and Florence (Benson) Rose was born on July 28, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed her life on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Chaffee Nursing Center Rehabilitation in Chaffee at the age of 84 years.
She was a former employee at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape and Florsheim Shoe Factory in Chaffee. Later in her career she worked at Chaffee Public Library and volunteer at the Chaffee Nutrition Center. Mrs. Whitmore enjoyed going to play Bingo, the Casino, and cards with her friends.
On March 16, 1962 she was united in marriage to Gerald Eugene Whitmore in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Whitmore preceded her in death on January 3, 2017.
Survivors include two sons, Chuck (Tanya Sells-Holbrook) of Jackson and Jarrett (Tiffany) Whitmore of Oran; by two daughters, Delores Whitmore of Gordonville and Valerie (Clint) Stickel of Oran; eighteen grandchildren, Alexis Rogers, Jerricah Whitmore, Skyler Whitmore, Sonya Whitmore, Charles Holbrook, Tanya Crisp, Sara Holbrook, Casey Poulard, Josh Butcher, Mary Mays, Rachel Self, Linda Jennings, Amanda Stickel, Michael Stickel, Jessica Aubrey, Stephanie Stickel, Lance Holbrook, and Holly Holbrook; forty-six great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren; also by special friends, Katie Chasteen, Barb Griggs, Jimmy Blue, and Susie Pobst; also, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steven Holbrook; one daughter, Geraldine Whitmore; three brothers, Kenny Rose, Curtis Rose, and Philip Rose; two sisters, Jennie Martin and Sharon Moore.
Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7:00 PM with visitation held from 6:00 until 8:00. Graveside service will be conducted on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Family request in lieu of flower please make donations to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Foundation. Envelopes will be provided by the Funeral Home.
