Shelby Eugene Jones

Shelby Eugene Jones, son of the late Wilbur Eugene Jones and Geroldine Lucille Abner was born on November 5, 1952 in rural St. James Township, Missouri and departed his life on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at his residence in Oran, Missouri at the age of 72 years.

He was the owner and operator of Hunter Lane Process Servers LLC and a United States Veteran of the Army. Shelby loved strong and protected hard.

On December 7, 1972 he was united in marriage to Fran Jones in Belton, Texas. Mrs. Jones survives of the home in Oran.

Along with his wife, survivors include three daughters, Brandy (Mike) Boshell of Oran, Dawn (John Paul) Brotherton of Sikeston, and Shelly Carter of Indianapolis; one brother, Dallas Hinshaw of Sikeston; one sister, Sheila Rae Abner of Georgia; six grandchildren, Briana, Tristen, Hannah, Mercedes, Halle, and Gavyn; also, by other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Hunter Michael Boshell; two sisters, Nancy Lee Walterscheid and Carolyn (Carrie) Jo Poole Henry, and two brothers John Douglas "Sonny" Henshaw and Travis Poole.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
