Tommy McCulley, Jr., son of the late Tommy McCulley, Sr. and Lucille (Eads) McCulley, was born on February 2, 1966, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 60.
Tommy dedicated many years of service as a Shift Supervisor at Buzzi Unicem in Cape Girardeau. He took great pride in his work and deeply valued the friendships he built with his coworkers, who became like family to him. Tommy was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Above all else, Tommy was a devoted husband and father. On May 1, 1993, he married the love of his life, Tina (Atchley) McCulley, beginning a partnership that would span more than 33 years. Tommy’s love and commitment to Tina were unwavering. He was a loyal and faithful husband who treasured the life they built together. Through every season of life, he remained a constant source of strength, support, and companionship. Whether they were enjoying time at the lake, cheering on the Cardinals, or simply spending a quiet evening together, Tommy cherished every moment with his wife. Their marriage was built on love, loyalty, laughter, and an enduring friendship that served as the foundation of their family.
Tommy was also a proud and loving father to his daughter, Brooke. He took immense pride in her accomplishments and treasured the time they spent together. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and providing for and supporting those he loved was one of his greatest purposes in life.
When Tommy wasn’t at work, he could most often be found at his beloved cabin on Kentucky Lake. Fishing was more than a hobby, it was his happy place. Whether casting a line from the dock, enjoying the peacefulness of the water, or spending time with family and friends at the lake, those moments brought him the most happiness. A lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Tommy rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team.
Tommy was also not one to sit still for long. He loved working with his hands and was always busy fixing, building, improving, or tinkering with something. He found satisfaction in hard work and enjoyed being outdoors, whether completing projects, maintaining property, or simply staying active. His determination, craftsmanship, and tireless spirit were qualities admired by all who knew him.
Along with his wife, survivors include one daughter, Brooke McCulley (Logan Johnson) of Paducah, Kentucky, as well as a host of extended family members, friends, coworkers, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness, loyalty, and friendship.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Scott City, MO with family and friends gathering from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:20pm. Rev. Randy Morse will officiate, with Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapels assisting the family.
Though Tommy’s presence will be deeply missed, his love for family, dedication to his work, and passion for the simple joys of life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of loyalty, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his wife and daughter will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
